  • Definitely a must for young children.
    By Teri, 07/07/09
It was great for a first time fisher, the kids loved it. I wouldn't go if you are looking for a great fishing challenge though. The prices were good, and the fish tasted great.

  • horrible experience
    By Val, 06/17/09
Me and my friends went there in hopes to get some fish for dinner. We got there and talked to the owners. Owners were not friendly at all. When she gave us a piece of pipe and said that we have to wack the fish behind its eyes we started to hesitate because noone wanted to do this. Owner said that we have to kill the fish, she didnt even say that ...

  • Our boys had the most fun!
    By Karen, 07/28/08
My husband and I took our 5 and 7 year old boys to the Tahoe Trout Farm for their first fishing trip. I (mom) was a bit grossed out because I don't fish, but the boys had the time of their lives. My 7 year old caught his first fish and my 5 year old scooped them up in the net (even for the other families). The most fun they had was bonking ...

  • Good Fishing BUT POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE :(
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/08
The two older women who run this farm were less than hospitable. I brought eight kids to fish and ended up leaving early because I was scolded for parking my car on the grass (which it was not!), scolded for asking if the fish that were just caught could be put on ice (the fish were not really biting and I didn't want the fish to sit in the dry ...

  • Guarantee Catch
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/08
If your kid is relentless about going fishing or you want to see a level of excitement rarely seen in your kid, then take to a trout farm for a guaranteed catch.

    My son love it!!!

Early in season the fish are small, but by mid to late july the fish are 12 to 18" long, But by late August the remaining fish are ~24" and really hungry.

  • Great for kids
    By Michael, 05/29/07
After the 9-year old got over crying because we killed the fish (she thought we were catching pets), she had such a great time. At the end she was yelling for the fish to DIE! DIE! while clubbing her fish. Not a place for sport fishing, but if you want your kids to be guaranteed to catch a big rainbow trout this is the place!

  • Kids love it!!!!
    By MicheleC, 04/09/07
Our son, when he was really little, loved this place!! You could see the fish as well as catch them!! It was a really fun experience for him. The people working there are pretty laid back and willing to answer the myriad of questions that a kid has about the whole workings of the place. He is 20 years old now and still remembers the fun he had there.

  • We wish we'd never gone!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/06
Not real fishing - poles have no reels, they just want you to net the fish as soon as you catch them. Our two little girls did not think it was very fun to stand around with swarms of wasps while watching their dad hit a fish on the head when he'd only spend about twenty seconds catching it. Next time we'll bring our own gear and do some ...

  • A Family Tradition
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/06
We started taking or daughter here when she was only 2 1/2 years of age - we've made this an annual event since. She would not miss it for the world and she's almost 14. We usually talk to a local restaurant ahead of time - take the trout there - they cook it. We have a great dinner that tastes great and means something to us - a memory. ...

  • Awesome Memory
    By ShanaD, 07/14/05
My father tooks us here so long ago. I can't believe it is still open. It was so much fun, and we caught alot of trout. The people were really nice. I remember cooking the trout a few hours later. It was so good. I would recommend trying it. It is a great place to take kids.
