Davis was my first trip to California outside of LA. I walked to the arboretum from my hotel, Aggie Inn, and was pleasantly surprised. I think all university campuses should have an arboretum like the one at UC Davis.

What a park should be like
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/05
Loved the wild-life, ducks, turtles, frogs, herons in nests, trees (redwoods & oaks) and stream. People space was good, nice walk/jog path, not too many tables. Takes into consideration handicaped access but doesn't make it a statement. A person can still hear the freeway in the background in places but not in others. Overall a very pleasant experience.
