All of the reviews about the bad service are dead on. We sat for almost 15 minutes before we even got chips and drinks took another 15. The atmosphere is nice and their margaritas are excellent, but the food is bland. I've been going there for years for their margaritas, but find myself disappointed every time I order. My friends and I find ourselved dumping salt over everything. Stick to the drinks and chips & salsa. With Tres Hermanas now servicing a full bar, I recommend going there for tasty food and drinks.

The food was excellent, however we couldn't enjoy our meal because of the live music. It was very loud and disruptive. I really enjoyed the drinks as well.

Ernestos is a terrible terrible place...

A friend of mine and I went for lunch and we had the chicken combo plate and everything was just AWFUL. The chicken tasted like FISH and the burrito I had on my plate was COLD.

Definantly just a trendy place to be seen and people watch. If you are into that sort of thing.

My husband and I went to dinner her on Thursday evening (9/22/05). The service we had (if you can call it service) was terrible. When we got there we were given chips, salsa, and bean dip, and were asked if we wanted drinks. Love the food. We have been there three times and enjoyed it all three times. The food always tastes fresh and the service is great. Highly recommend it.

This past Sunday was my second time at Ernesto's. It's been about 3 years since my last visit to Sacramento. The food is fantastic, the staff are friendly and colorful. The clientel is very diverse, which is a big plus. Straight families, gay families, interracial couples. They along with the food and drinks are a beautiful representation of our state.

Ernesto's is always inviting, and the food is always fresh, and hot. Don't eat here if you're looking for small portions!

Ambiance is hurt by loud music, should be half a step below average.

Very good Carne Asada. Good food, could spice up the salsa and quacomale but good. Very mild for a Mexican place.

Music way too loud, almost blaring, hard to hear myself think. Can't hear waiter, waiter can't hear me. You would think they would figure it out on there own.
