The ruin itself is worth a look but the story of the York Jews barracading themselves from attacking citizens rivals Masada for drama and sacrifice.

Really fun

So old and full of history. My 5-year-old daughter thought it was one of the best parts of our trip. The spiral staircases are a thrill, and there's a giant book about castles just made for little ones (and informative for big ones, too). Great view of the city. A little nerve-wracking for those with a fear of heights, but worth it. There are very steep stairs up to it, but my sister with a hip problem had no trouble getting up.
