We made our first visit to No.8 on a Friday lunchtime, it was very busy with a great atmosphere. The service was very attentive and friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. A fantastic place to eat and relax
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/06
I visited with some friends on a Wed evening - the service was attentive but not over the top. Despite it being a Wed the restaurant was full and this added to the atmosphere.
I had the most beautiful dinner - pork with satay and chilli - unbeliveable taste and great value for money! We had a really enjoyable evening - I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and I will definitely be telling everyone I know to visit and see for themselves!
I went to the cafe No.8 while visiting North England last summer. Living in Paris and coming from Burgundy, I must admit I didn't have any exception from trying regional English food. What a surprise to come into this warm, charming cafe with such a great atmosphere. More amazing was to discover this lovely garden at the back that could ...

High Quality Cuisine in a delightfully informal atmosphere

WE loved the food - simple and tasty. Everything looked beautiful and was full of flavour. The service was friendly and attentive. Everything is well priced and as good as anything I have eaten anywhere in the world. There is also a wonderful garden artea which will look fantastic in the summer.

Simple, tasty food - vey imaginative and at a great price. It's just too small though - get a bigger place guys !
My wife and I were staying at the nearby (Portland Rd) Hazelwood Hotel and had both lunch and dinner at Cafe No. 8 on 3 July 2004. Absolutely outstanding. A bit small but the food and the selection - also the really cordial relaxed and attentive service - is outstanding. I cannot speak too highly of this restaurant and its friendly atmosphere. ...
