Just dot back from UK trip, happened to be in York second week in April, aimed to eat at The Go Down Rest. early evening for 5:30pm hour which they open. Must say it was impresive all around top marks for this place.

Top place to eat when in york

This certainly is a place to try out .We have been to york for short breaks for the last 4 years and always eat at the Go Down at least once we always save the best till last , the food is always firstclass and staff make sure they cater to your every needs .The Go Down is a place to visit.

this was our first visit to the restaurant and i must say i loved it , my boss recommended it, he was right the food was fantastic, from the moment we walked in all the staff we very attentive, asking if everything was ok, i would highly recommend it to anyone wanting good food it is not cheap but you like good food its a must.
we will certainly be going back, ive got a date with a rump of lamb.
