It was a pretty good value (Free, unless you do selected entertainment). The only bad thing was that my kids (and I) do not like motion simulators or 3D movies, so we didn't get much out of that. Plus, it was kind of hard to get to the sea lion show when there was only 4 or so times they did it during the day. But I think we still got our ...
What matters most to me in the zoo is the state of the animals. On the whole, the animals seemed very well taken care of - active, curious and content. There are a lot of reviews on here worth a read, so rather than wax poetic about the zoo, here are the meat and potatoes information I look for on the net when going to a destination.
What an amazing zoo. And it is Free!!! Anyone should make this a stop in St. louis. I was amazed at the grounds and the animals and the amount of natural habitat in this zoo. They have done alot of fantastic work there. We did purchase the safari pass for $10 which allowed us unlimited train rides, 2 different 3-D movies, 2 simulator rides, 2 ...

St. Louis zoo is a must see. We arrived by 10 am on a weekday morning which eased parking and crowds. There are so many animals, animal caretakers are out and about to interact and educate those interested. Food prices were not outrageous. Entrance is free to the zoo, what a deal and what a great time for our family.

Good for all day, buy your drinks at a Shell station
We only had a full day in St. Louis and I wouldn't be back in St. Louis for year. It is a good zoo to go to if you have all day, but I didn't get a chance to see everything because it was late in the day. Also, staff was unhelpful in nearby national chain restaurants. It also cost $3-$4 just for a Coke. You can get that for less than $2 at Shell. I may come back, but earlier in the morning when I have more time.

The St. Louis Zoo was awesome. It was a great enviroment for kids to be in and the prices were overall good for a zoo. There are a lot of animals small and large. Everybody needs to visit the St. Louis Zoo.

A must for a day out

The best free zoo in the country. Save even more money, come early and find parking on the street. Bring a picnic lunch and cooler and enjoy them in Forest Park. Bring money for entry into the children zoo, the gift shop and refreshments.

We come back every year
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/08
I grew up in St. Louis going to the Zoo. I live in another state now with my husband and two children. We have visited several zoos nationally and the St. Louis Zoo is by far our favorite. We come back at least once year. I realize people may think I am partial to this zoo, having grown up here, but I find that the St. Louis Zoo has more to offer ...

My daughter and I traveled from Wisconsin to visit your zoo on March 28. After reading your brochure - rated #1, see our cheetah cubs, home to 11,000 animals, etc - we were very disappointed. All in all, I think we saw 12 animals, the cubs were not accessible, as most of the other big cats were not. Many of the exhibits were empty. There were ...
