I've been to Oceans of Fun several times over the years. It's 3 hours from us, so it's close enough for a nice 'mini-vacation'. We are going back in a couple of weeks. I was interested to read all the negative reviews about the service. I guess I've only ever dealt with staff as far as lockers & tubes go. Tubes seem ...

Oceans Of Filth

That place needs updated from the 80's and the bathhouses are the dirtiest I've ever seen. The extra charges of parking, lockers, innertubes are a complete rip off. There also seems to be no managment in sight. The place is run by high school/ college kids. There was one young man working the top of Hurricane Falls who really seemed to be enjoying the work and making it fun for every guest. He would fit in better at Disney World.
I can't say I loved it, but I can't say I'd never go back either. The food was terrible, the lines were long, and to be honest I was a bit bored. Just like every other water park, only a little worse. My two favorite parts were the wave pool and the lazy river(the only rides without a enormous line.) Although I did have some fun.:) ...
I was worried when I read some of these reviews, but we went to Oceans of Fun in KC, and found the staff to be very polite, the place to be clean (even the restrooms). It's not cheap, but we had some coupons from Subway, so that helped, and I think we paid about $27 each, with $10 for parking. We went about noon on Saturday, and didn't have to wait in line hardly at all. My 2 teen sons, my husband and I had a great time.
Not everyone from KCMO is rude ass hole!! But anyways, thats why I quit working at WOF because I was tired of the stupid co-workers I had to work with. When someone disses my city I get pissed.

POOR SERVICE!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/28/08
IT WAS MY FIRST TIME THERE IN MANY YEARS, FAMILY OF 10 WENT ON SUNDAY JULY 08. THE SERVICE IS SO BAD, IT MUST BE A BAD PLACE TO WORK, BECAUSE THE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE REALLY SEEM TO HAVE A BAD ATTITUDE, THEY ARE MAD THEY HAVE TO BE THERE. WE HAD TO WAIT 30 MINUTES WHILE SITTING AT THE SWIM UP BAR THAT WAS NOT CROWDED. WHEN YOU TRY TO GET THE ...
The pizza restaurant by the wave pool has the worst service I have ever experienced anywhere in my life. It took 58 minutes to get 3 order of breadsticks and the people ahead of us waited over an hour for two pizzas. The people behind the counter were slow and not friendly at all. Other stands and restaurants had nice people, this place was ...

Not worth it

Well, we read all the reviews, and had never been here before. I have to say we have to agree more with the negative reviews. The water park itself was nice. But the staff is horrible, rude and unfriendly, but what do you expect when all your employees are kids. I never saw 1 lifeguard crack a smile, but were quick to blow their whistle, and yell ...

Won't be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/08
Travelled with my family 3 hours to go to Worlds of Fun/Oceans of fun. While Worlds of Fun was enjoyable, our vacation ended on a sour note. Whith a high entrance fee, we were bombarded with extra fees once captive in the park; high locker fee, rental fee for inner tubes, etc. But the biggest downer related to the staff. While relaxing in the ...
White Water in Branson is much cleaner. We had to be in KC for several days last Summer and bought season passes to Oceans of Fun. It was always too crowded and the bathrooms/showers were filthy. Visitors also seemed dirty and I guess that's not any fault of the park itself, but they need more space, crowd control, and folks to clean up after dirty patrons.
