  • A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/08
This is a beautiful museum on the outside as well as the inside. Each room's wall color blended perfectly with the displayed art work. I was surprised to see art from so many well known artists from around the world.
There is a lot to see and I could have easily spent another day there. I've been to many art museums in Italy and the Nelson-Atkins is just as nice. Best of all there was no admission fee!

The value you here is great because it is free. There is some great art here and the landscape and architecture add to the great experience. We did pay for the special exhibition and loved it. This museum recently acquire the Hallmark Photograph Archive that increased its photo holdings from 1500 to 7500. This makes it one of the best museums ...

  • Breath taking

I had never been in the same room with master pieces like Divinci. I was in awe of true art the whole time. A must see!

  • A great place for viewing historic art
I decided to visit this museum the day before I left Kansas City and was quite impressed. They have a beautiful tapestry that I took a picture of years ago that was a marvouls wonder. I must say that the collection was very impressive for the size of the museum. It should take about almost 2 hours of your time viewing each piece and collection. The ...

I thought this museum was amazing. Every where I go I try and go to an art museum, and this one by far tops them all! Every thing in this museum in breath taking and wonderful. There are paintings, sculptures from every religion, religions relics, and so much more. The best part is that it's all free!! A must see.

The Nelson has the most wonder collection of Asian art. It also has buddist temple that had been moved into the museum.

It is currently under renovation, but well worth going. There is something for every type of art lover. My husband doesn't appreciate art, but loves The Nelson. We take our son twice a year. They have wonderful ...

The Nelson-Atkins is magnificent. It has a phenomenal sampling of art in all catagories, and we will return many times in the future to try and see all of it.

  • Just about the best place on earth!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/06
The special displays are great, but even without them the museum would be a hit. It has a great adult atmosphere and is a great place to get away from the kids and spend some time enjoying the art and culture.
