While it is good to have so much space for the larger animals, this zoo is much more spread out than any other I've visited and made for a very long day, as we had a handicap member of our party.

The zoo was kept incredibly neat and clean. I loved how it really felt like you were walking through the actual countries that the animals are from as you tour the zoo. Well, many restaurants was close and some vending machines didn;t have whati was lookingto drink but it was nice to see the animals close it.

There were a few displays that were enjoyable, such as the Orangatan & Sea Lion exhibits. However, this zoo scores very low for layout and maintenance. This is one of the cleanest zoos I've ever visited. Small cascades and waterfalls run throughout the entire zoo. It's really a nice place to bring the children. Only sour note about this place is everything is spaced so far apart. Kansas City is a place with many hills & climbing these small mountains can be quite exhausting when trying to entertain children. On a windy day this would be great stop on a family vacation.
