The biggest negative of this zoo is how spread out it is. There is a lot of walking but you can talk the tram which drops you off at stops in the zoo and then you can hop back on when you are ready to go. The animals are in their natural setting. This is one of the cleanest zoos I've ever visited. Small cascades and waterfalls run throughout the entire zoo. It's really a nice place to bring the children. Only sour note about this place is everything is spaced so far apart. Kansas City is a place with many hills & climbing these small mountains can be quite exhausting when trying to entertain children. On a windy day this would be great stop on a family vacation.

While it is good to have so much space for the larger animals, this zoo is much more spread out than any other I've visited and made for a very long day, as we had a handicap member of our party.
