The only thing I haven't enjoyed there is all the walking and there isn't enough shady park benches to sit in, but other than that, enjoy our time looking at the animals, esp. the baby ones!

The biggest negative of this zoo is how spread out it is. There is a lot of walking but you can talk the tram which drops you off at stops in the zoo and then you can hop back on when you are ready to go. The animals are in their natural setting. The Kansas City Zoo is a great place to go on the weekends and get some exercise while getting to enjoy some great scenery! The zoo is separated into continents, with animals native to those areas. Most of the animals have a very large living area, which also means the zoo is more spread out. It's a great way to get some exercise on the weekends, and parking is free, so it's a great value.

This is one of the cleanest zoos I've ever visited. Small cascades and waterfalls run throughout the entire zoo. It's really a nice place to bring the children. Only sour note about this place is everything is spaced so far apart. Kansas City is a place with many hills & climbing these small mountains can be quite exhausting when trying to entertain children. On a windy day this would be great stop on a family vacation.
