The list of famous people who have enjoyed this place is long... but I don't see how they could choke down the food. The sliced pork sandwich (on 2 slices of bread) was probably 60-70% fat and 30-40% pork. Huge disappointment. My wife had the sliced turkey and it was fine -- but nothing spectacular. The sauces were also not good... not ...

Rude manager/owner, rude service, overpriced food
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/09
Food was average, really prefer KC Masterpiece over Arthur Bryant's - not sure what the rave is about this place. The inside is kind of a dive. Food is overpriced, cashier was rude and was hard to understand. Asked for a number to call to speak to a manager about our experience and was told to talk to Gary. Called him today and he said ...

The Best There Is!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/07
The best BBQ there is anyhere, and I try it everywhere I go. It's a joint, so enjoy it for what it is. The service is what it is, and has been for 50 years that I can attest to. The food is great, and they give you a lot of it. Everyone has their preferances as to what to get, but one can't go wrong whatever they order. I prefer the original sauce. Enjoy the place as is.

Sunday Afternoon Visit - so so
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/07
Ok, I'll try to give you an balanced opinion from both sides. Came into town from St. Louis, so I do have a love for good BBQ. First walking into the joint you know it's old school cafeteria style, walk up and order your food...cooks seem unhappy, but are just moving along long lines. Food: I had the short ribs and some of a ...
I loved this BBQ. I had the Burnt end sandwich the first visit and ribs the 2nd. They give you a lot of food!! My husband and I bought one order and split. We still had plenty to eat. The neighborhood is fine. It is rough around the edges, but I felt pretty safe. Don't let the service people scare you. They may seem a little gruff, but ...

Great Meat, Poor Sauce
By Tony C, 05/25/07
Ok, I'm from Kansas City and have won the Kansas State Championship with my BBQ team. Bryant's bar none has the best briskit sandwich in the whole world, and I mean that! But their sauces are below average. They use a raw BBQ sauce as their original and the spices make it very gritty. What I do is buy the sandwichs and sneak in some of ...

Best restaurant in the world
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/07
I was in KC for business. I ate there 3 times in 4 days. It is refreshing to find a place that is authentic down to the original coat of paint. Don't be afraid of the area (the American Jazz Museum is just down the street for God's sake.) The sandwiches, the service, the preparation, real to the bone. Go with an empty stomach. I sometimes think about taking a flight to KC just to go there again. Best restaurant in the world.

Don't believe the hype
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/07
Fatty, bland meat. AWFUL sauce. Greasy, gut-busting sides. Overpriced menu. Dangerous location. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

DISAPPOINTED
By Sanya S, 05/23/07
I WAS TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS EXPERIENCE. THE FOOD WAS NOT GOOD, MEAT WAS FATTY, FATTY! AND, OVERPRICED. SINCE THIS IS A NATIONALLY KNOWN BBQ RESTAURANT, I EXPECTED ALOT MORE, NOT FAT MEAT!

It is depressing to eat there!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/07
I do not live in Kansas City so it is difficult to find barbeque of this caliber.
The last time that I ate there I became depressed half way through my pulled pork sandwich (pork on Wonder Bread) when I realized that I did not know when I would have a chance to eat at Arthur Bryants again.
