i used to go to a school that was located in there medicine bear it was a world away from the neighborhoods i grew up in. I loved it! So beautiful and untouched for so long.i remember taking walks along the river, looking into the windows of the old buildings and walking along the fort itself.

sadly overgrown and run down

I used to take my children here when they were young. I was very disappointed to see that the grounds were unkempt and the buildings looked run down. I would have thought that the city of Detroit would have kept this historic site in pristine condition. If it were kept up I would love to take my grandchildren to see all the things that their parents and grandparents saw. It wouldn't take a lot to fix up this once beautiful military site.
