I like the large selection of animals they had and the fact that they aren't cooped up in tinny little cages. My daughter had a blast and wanted to go back the very next day. There was also a dinosaur ride and a train ride that are really awesome. You really should leave about five hours to look at everything. It is very big and I was kind of ...

A Definate Family Fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/07
It was great! The kids loved the Butterfly Garden. It was loads of fun and we had a great time. Bring the family along! The atosphere was great. Visit in the spring or fall when the weather is not to hot or cold! We loved it!
I liked the idea that you can walk from the gate to the end of the zoo and there is a train ride you can take to get back. Don't pass up anything. All is worth seeing. The zoo is clean and safe. Wounderfull pictures so do bring your camera.
Located on 125 acres in suburban Royal Oak, the Detroit Zoo is a bit dated in some places, but found to be a very nice park that provided a truly pleasant visit. Take the kids
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
The Detroit Zoo is one of the best places to take kids. Lots of animals to see, great gardens and plenty of room to run around and tire them out. On a great Michigan summer day there is nothing better. Of all the zoos in the US that I have been to, this one is by far the best. They continue to upgrade and there is knowledgeable staff to help ...
I have always loved to go to the Detroit Zoo.I have been married almost 3 years and the first year we were married,my husband and i went.He absolutey loved it.My favorite place to go is the penguin house.I love penguins. It is just a really cool place for families to go and enjoy animals that you do not see on a daily basis. For us,it was worth the money, and of course i highly recommend this place to anyone from age 2 to 92.
The Detroit Zoo is located not in Detroit, but in the city of Pleasant Ridge Michigan off of Woodward Avenue right off of the Interstat I-696.
I love the Detroit Zoo from it's little shops to the petting zoo back in the corner of the large zoo. I've been going here since I was a kid and exhibits keep getting bigger and better for our ...

One of the best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/05
I have been to a lot of zoos across America, and the Detroit Zoo has to rate amoung the top. It is laid out well, has a lot of animals (and reptiles!) and you can spend the whole day there, and want to go back for more.
