If you're looking for somewhere to have lunch or go shopping, you could do better than Faneuil Hall. The most it has to offer is a narrow, mall-like indoor avenue that passes through some interesting food shops. The rest of it is a great waste of time.
Honestly, there's nothing memorable about Faneuil Hall at all, and if it were to be ...
I am from Boston and I love Fanuel Hall Markeplace, there are so many different kinds of things to do. I can go dancing, have a drink, and there is a variety of food to choose from, and to top it off there are places to shop.
Our first stay in Boston was absolutely awesome! And we walked the entire "Freedom Trail." But one thing I didn't think was particularly enjoyable was Faneuil Hall. They've taken these beautiful buildings of historical signifigance and reduced them to commercialized fodder. If you're looking for anyting under the sun to eat or drink, in an overcrowded, frenzied atmostphere, than this is the place to go.
Although there is something going on, but overpriced and overrated. For tourists with time, its a good stop, but if you're short on time, there are many other places to go to better catch the essence of Boston.
