We did a lot of historical things in the city. The Freedom trail was probably the best. The Holocaust exhibit at the Commons area was very moving. We had a great time just wondering around and riding the subway. We went to a Bruins game. All in all a great trip.

looking forward to a return visit this fall
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/05
the feeling of sharing the history of nation in a place, central to the freedom we in america enjoy today.
We took the T to the North Station did Quincy Market then started up to the USS Constitution, but had already seen it the day before on the Harbor Cruise. So we went to Paul Revere's House and took a detour through Little Italy. This is such a neat part of the town. So cozy and smells delish'. We ate at D'Gvionne's. Great specials ...
and the thing to do while in Boston. It is hard to find a more historical city. The red line makes the trail easy to follow and to see Paul Revere's house and Bunker Hill and old, old, churches and graves...I really liked it.

Do it in pieces...and take a tour.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/05
We did most of the freedom trail on our trip, but in sections. It's too much for just one day, unless you drive it. We meant to take a walking historical tour, but somehow got the architecutal tour instead. It was very interesting, and well worth it, but I still wish we had the historical tour too. Boston is such a great walking town, don't rent a car.

Walking History
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/05
A good way to spend a day learning about US Revolutionary history. If you are going to walk it on your own, recommend do a little bit of research prior so you know what the significance of the different stops are. If traveling with small kids, bring a stroller and think about doing it in two waves. Quincy market is a good break place, food, shopping, drink, restrooms.
Hey I decided to be adventurous on my own terms so me and my group walked the entire freedom trail acting as our own personal tour guides. At the end of the freedom trail isbunker hill with 294 steps to the top. Yeah I climbed them all and there is a great view of bostn once you make up. Had a great time doing this

Freedom Trail with the Go Boston Card (and other stuff, too!)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/05
My husband and I just got back from and amazing trip to Boston. We bought one of those Go Boston Cards and saw everything in Boston for really cheap but I absolutely loved*** this tour. I always knew that Boston had historical significance, but it was great to walk down streets and visit historical landmarks and further understand their signifigance in the tapestry of America's history. Wonderful!
