No great fans of modern art, we visited purely out of curiosity. We went there last month and were fascinated! UNFORTUNATELY, no videotaping and/or photos are allowed inside, which is really too bad, because we wanted to share with family and friends back in Germany....Other than that, a really cool place and a "MUST" if you are visiting Baltimore!!!!

I liked the Baltimore American Visionary Museum of Art, it was one of the few things I got to experience in Baltimore with the little time I got to spend there, it is fun for all ages and you get to experience a type of art not neccesarily recognized in many other places or museums. The American Visionary Art Museum is wonderful. Anyone that has the opportunity to come to Baltimore should definately check it out. It costs around eight dollars, and hours can be spent just wandering around this museum. The art is really interesting and stimulating. It lacks formality but that is what makes it desirable. It is a wonderful alternative and great for any occasion. Check it out!

We visited this museum because my son had met one of the artists and had been told it was fun to visit. Self trained artists, great work, well worth the time and money. A lot of really fun artwork.

So much outsider art all in one place is unusual and pretty incredeble.

Really a nice change from other museums. Very interesting and unique.

The exhibits follow a theme (past themes have been "addiction" and "water"). All the pieces are created by people with little or no formal art training; these are naturally talented individuals featuring their highly unusual, unprecidented artwork.
