  • bridge under construction?
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/08
We met people at the park who told us how great it was on the otherside..
Sadly the bridge over was closed and looks like it may have been so for a while. Some directions to the walks would have been nice, everyone we met was as lost as we were.

  • What a dump, a real shame
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/07
When I was a teenager, mid fifties, the park was a wonderful (clean) place. We would spend days there fishing (all fish are gone now). The lake had an abundance of all types of fish. Now it has been neglected for years by the city and the dog walkers. Dogs go unleashed and mess everywhere. The city and the dog walkers should be ashamed of ...

  • perfect for dogs
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/11/07
Great park for dogs and their owners. Great trail in the back of the park that leads to a stream where the dogs can play in the water. If you don't like dogs, chances are you won't enjoy it as there are tons of dogs on and off leash in the park.

  • Beautiful except for dogs
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/21/07
This place is great except for the 100's of people who take their dogs off their leashes and let them roam around and bother everyone else. Great for hiking and biking and getting away from the hustle and bustle. You may find some unique rocks, peaceful hideaways and private wateride retreats. However, many of them will be disturbed by the ...

  • Used to love it ...
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/06
About 10-12 years ago. Since then it has become a dog park where hardly anyone follows the leash laws. I would not recomend it to anyone. I have 2 dogs and would not take them there either.

  • Gone to the Dogs
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/05
I used to love this park, but sadly it is over run we dog owners who do not leash or clean up after their dogs.

It hasn't been kept up too well either, and the greenery is usually overgrown.

  • A great family place
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/05
My husband and I love to take our dog to this wonderful park! There is a picnic pavillion, huge lake for the dogs to swim in, and a beautiful trail. We have never had a negative experience and we try to go at least once a week.

  • Dogs generally welcome
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/26/05
Many acres and Lake Roland. Great paths, beautiful. A bonus: If you have a dog this is a dog friendly park. Just remember to bring a bag and pick up after your pet.

If you want to escape from the bustling city, fall is no better time, and roland lake no better place. The scenic and natural environment seeps into your senses and revitilizes your spirit.
