Unless you're an extreme Poe fan, I wouldn't waste the time or the money. The museum itself is nice, but the neighborhood surrounding it is awful - and I live in Baltimore!

Awesome historical home - definitely worth seeing!
The Poe house is located in a fairly bad area of Baltimore, but is definitely worth the trip. It is right outside the city - a couple minutes away from the Lexington Market (also a must do). Be sure to check the hours of the Poe House. When we went, the current hours were Wednesday - Saturday 12-3:45. Also be sure to check out his grave which ...

It's really small! But packed with neat Poe stuff. I think they only allow 25 people in at one time. The guide told me it was Baltimore's smallest historic house museum.
I saw a lock of Poe's hair and his wife Virginia hair. A piece of his coffin was also on display. The grave is about 8 blocks east of the museum. The neighborhood at ...
