I would suggest going here--if for no other reason than to be able to tell your friends back home that you've been to a voodoo museum. It's not that much $, and only takes 45 mins to an hour, so you can take it in on your way to dinner or between other attractions.

The place cost too much to get into and was no more frightening or interesting than my grandmother's bedroom. With so many things to do in New Orleans you can find a dozen better places to spend your money and lots of more interesting things to do than sit and watch a poorly-narrated history of voodoo VHS tape on an uncomfortable wooden bench.

It was too crowded and the tour guide we had was very boring. He couldn't keep the attention of the crowd. It felt like we were walking around someone's crowded study... not a museum. Spend your money on the Haunted History Tour instead. (Which I HIGHLY recommend.)

It’s just a few, crowded rooms. Your money is better spent at the wax museum. It has atmosphere and some nice stuff – but overall it was a disappointment.

Strangely enough, the museum seems to have gone way too commerical and cookie cutter. The history is interesting and the place itself is not forboding as you would think. Very comfortable atmosphere. The souvenirs (like the other 3 VooDoo shops) look like something Id get out of a happy meal, but everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Whether you are interested in Voodoo from the point of view of serious folklore or cheesy movies, this place is a goldmine.
