a great place for kids in N.O. but only a short walk from the heart of N.O., the french quarter. if your with your kids take a carage ride too... its full of history about the city!
several habitats were closed and the aquarium was dissapointingly small for the 17.95 ticket price. penguin display was cute and the petting area was nice
Even though Hurricane Katrina wipped out the majority of the fish exhibited in the Aquarium, they've managed to rebuild it in such a manner that it seems almost although nothing has changed.
the aquarium and the zoo is the best place to bring my children. there are so many new animals each time we go and visit that it's never a waste. despite the rise in cost, i will always bring my children here instead of new iberia.

I loved everything about the aquarium when I visited as a little girl. My favite parts were visiting the white alligators and being able to feed the fish.
All 500,000 fish, every one died in katrina. (Compared to Audubon ZOo, which lost only 2 animals!) Imagine cleaning out 500,000 fish (some of them sharks and larger) that had roasted and rotted in the peak of New Orleans summer!
Its incredible how fast and well this aquarium came back. It is amazing. And membership is so cheap (the price of ...
I absolutely enjoyed this place. The jellyfish exhibits are awesome. Especially the dragon jellyfish. The albino alligator looked lonely... And the penguins were adorable. I only wished for more stuff to see- no dolphins, or manatees or more alligators...

The penquins were great!!!! Walking through the tunnel is too cool. My family loved the Aquaruim and New Orleans. It is worth the trip. We loved the idea of helping New Orleans come back.
Just got back from a week in New Orleans Monday and of course we visited the aquarium. I thought it was kind of pricy (just MHO) because it really didn't take us that long to go through the whole aquarium. My kids are 8 and 12 and we all thought everything was just beautiful. The anaconda scared the heck out of me!! Definitely check this place out if you come to New Orleans.
