The MCA in Chicago has an absolutely amazing collection. I say that because you might not see any of it - so much space is given over to temporary shows (many of which are excellent and tour internationally) that most of this collection will never see the light of day. The musuem is has an excellent display of contemporary art from some of the most known and unknown artists in the world. It is a must for any tourist who is in chicago because the size and variety of work that the MCA has is unseen anywhere else. Also look out for special shows; Dan Flavin's was great.
