I've been going to Six Flags Great America since it was Mariott's Great America. I've taken my son the last four years and it's always been a trip we looked forward to. This time was a huge let down and the park cutbacks were obvious. All of the TV screens that you could view while waiting in line are gone. The Space Shuttle ...
I was a kid when this park opened - it was AWSOME! Nice and clean, great rides, and we didn't get nickled and dimed to death. Now, it is dingy, the entire place needs a fresh coat of paint. And, be prepared to PAY BIGTIME EXTRA FEES for everything imaginable. Apparently the $69 you pay to get in in s not enough for them. $4 soft drinks, $8 ...
All the lines were sooo long for roller costers, but my toddler was able to get on all the small rides with no waiting. She had a ball!! We'll go back!

We spent May 31 and June 1, 2008 at Six Flags, and had a wonderful time. I am from Wis. and visited the park several times during my teenage years. We have been going back the last few years with our teenage kids so now my perspective is a bit different. Our plan for the weekend was to do the amusement park on Saturday and Hurrican Harbour on ...

Worst food service ever

My boyfriend and I went to Great America for Fright Fest on Saturday, 10/20/2007 from 4PM to 10PM. At 5PM and 6:30PM, we walked around the entire park looking for the shortest food line and found that they were all extremely long. We figured the lines must move reasonably fast even though they were long. Several food stands and restaurants were ...

I have gone to Six Flags/Great America since I was little and now with kids of my own; I have been brining my little ones. I have always had a great time until yesterday. The park was way too packed. The lines for food were over 45 minutes to an hour long and then when you got up there they were out of everything from Nachos and cheese to hot ...
The day we went to the park it was only open 10a-6p, which the web site said 10a-9p. Then the waterpark was closed because all the college students went back to school, which is great but vacations do not stop because school is in session. The ticket window person was rude when we asked questions reagarding these issue. The website said nothing regarding the waterpark being closed, that is the main reason my family picked this location.

This was a fun weekend getaway! The attractions were top notch! Opt for purchasing the Flash Pass-it gets you to the front of the line quickly with mininmal wait times. I think this option made our trip better because we did not waste a lot ot time in line.
We took great photos with a few of the characters. Bugs Bunny, Speedy Gonzalez, ...
