Great place for kids and adults. Very nice enclosures, even liked it more than San Francisco Zoo! Way better. The animals are diverse and plentiful. Good food in the food court, nice atmosphere.
The Zoo at Boise is so much fun. I live on campus at BSU and it's great to walk over if you have a free afternoon and enjoy the animals. Admission is only 6.25 for adults! That's great for my salary and the zoo just added an African exhibit with lions and giraffes. And in the spring of 2009 there's going to be a train ride added for even more fun.
We love Zoo Boise! We are originally from Southern California. So we have experienced the larger zoos. They were very fun, but they can be very busy and expensive. The Zoo in Boise is never over crowded and we can get right up close to see all the animals. The tigers are the best. The first time we went we were the only family in the zoo! It ...
The lady in the gift shop where you had to buy your ticket is like a "Robot". She has the same tone of speech for everyone that walks in and her words are exact. No emotion. It's too bad she's the first thing you encounter. Zoo Boise is fine for young children, although during the winter quite a few of the animals were not visible. ...
This was the smallest zoo we have ever seen! There really wasn't much to it at all, we were not impressed. The kids enjoyed it but also were upset at it being so small and over so quickly, doesn't even take up half a day.

We can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/07
Zoo Boise worked with my highschool ABR(An advanced biology) class, allowing us to design and implement a hammock for their sloth bear, as well as inviting us to help build their swift fox habitat. They were trusting and helpful, and we had a great time. Zoo Boise is worth your time, money and effort. Their animals are gorgeous and well taken care of.

Worth it if your in Julia Davis park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/26/06

The grounds are gorgeous, but it does have a small selection of animals, but what they do have you really are up close and personal to them which you don’t get with the bigger zoo’s around.
The Boise Zoo is nice because it is small and easy to walk through, however everytime I walk through I get soooo sad because the animals have no place to do anything. The last time I went the penguin exhibit had NO water in it and there were three penguins pressed against the glass looking soooo pitiful!! All the animals just looked so sad, they ...

Needs more animals
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/05
Not a whole lot to do and not that much to see. Needs more attractions only takes about a half hour to get through the whole zoo.
