The place was fun, lively and nice. The rolls were awful. The rice was soggy, and it seemed like 70% rice, 30% content. The chef were Japanese and I didn't understand why they didn't see that these were not acceptable. One guy was just a student, so maybe that's why he couldn't see.

Sashimi and nigiri are good. Rolls are embarrassing.

We just recently relocated from SoCal and the first thing we looked for in Boise, ID is a Japanese Restaurant. We have tried 3 so far and Shige is the Best! We highly recommend to all Japanese Food lovers! You will keep on coming back for the food never changes .. it's consistently delicious!

I can't tell you why the sushi tastes better here but it just does. I have yet to find another place in Boise or the surrounding area that can touch Shige. My wife and I have also never had a problem getting out of the parking lot under the hour mark (unless it's Friday night...but we usually avoid high traffic nights).

Anyways, I always feel like I'm cheating myself when I go anywhere else in town.

Average food, cheap price, so I guess it's a wash. Nothing special. Might go here again but not likely if I can find some place better.

My family absolutely loves Shige. We usually go for the Rock and Roll, Poki, Scallop and Hot pepper, dominic's special, caterpillar, and my personal favorite, the Kamakaze. The service for us is usually great, in fact we almost always pay nothing for the parking garage because we are done within one hour. We've tried several other sushi ...

The place is really awesome. Sushi is prepared thoughtfully, people are nice, and the ambiance brings a piece of japan to your heart... this place rocks, it's worth all the time and money you'll spend there!!!

loved the food, atmosphere and shige of course! it was awesome and after going once you crave it all the time. the jackpot and volcano rolls are the best ever!

I've been to this place a few times when I'm in Boise. It is honestly the best sushi I have ever had. I can't find sushi this good in Orange County (California). Try to Poki; it will rock your world. It's something I look forward to whenever I'm in town.

Shige's is the best restaurant i've ever eaten Sushi at. I've been to Japan, and maybe didn't know the right place to go but Shige's reigns above anything i've ever eaten.
