I'm sure my friends think I'm crazy (except for one or two that are as equally obsessed with the islands as I am) but I can't get enough of the Hawaiian islands. I've remember my first trip with my family about 10 years ago, which was a last minute change to our travel plans and from the moment I stepped onto HNL's Wikiwiki ...
I was stationed in Oahu for over 3 years and recently had to come back home to Houston. I loved the place, never a dull day, never an ugly day, even in bad weather I was awed at the beauty of the island. The weather is pretty much year round average in the 80s, and from mid December to mid January it gets really rainy and windy. If you want to ...

Great water rental place
By hughes566, 11/20/08
We go every year to Hawaii and for the last five years we have been going to the best beach rental service that we have found along the long stretch of beach. Prime Time Sports they are located on Fort Derussy beach where the military hotel is “Hale Koa” right between the Waikiki Shores and the Hilton Hawaiian Village. They have all ...

Loved Waikiki !!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/08
We just got back from a week in Hawaii. We decided to save some money by staying in a Honolulu hotel. Walking to the beach took less than 10 minutes and we saved around $400 avg. Waikiki beach was everything advertised, especially the crowds. Loved the scenery especially the view of a volcano (Diamond head) right beside the beach. The water was ...

Only good for a day
By Anonymous Contributor, 11/06/08
We've been to Hawaii four times (usually 6 day visits) since 1992 I think. Its too much to see and do on the island to be spending too much time in Waikiki beach. 1st timers will wanna visit there as soon as they arrive. Make a day out of it. Afterwards you can take your time and enjoy the rest of the island. Waikiki is not as crowded as some ...

Crowded but beautiful
By JenninNC, 10/24/08
Maybe more beautiful than the beaches we visited in Brazil. We went back for our 3rd trip this past Sept. Waikiki is definitely in our top 5 beaches which include Kailua beach in Oahu as well. One would think that Waikiki is the only beach on the island judging by the crowds, though. There are plenty of places to lay out but if youre not there by ...
I liked the fact that the umbrella/chair vendors on the beach were very helpful. I don't have anything bad to say. I loved the beach especially the waves.

Crowded for a reason
By marissaisahott, 09/03/08
1st and foremost..Waikiki is over-hyped and slightly over-rated, but its legacy is what it is and its not only "the" most famous beach but it's setting makes it one of the few most beautiful beaches. I went with my family 2 times growing up and me and fiance went last December. One of the unique things about Hawaii, is it never gets ...

A BIG disappointment!
By David, 08/31/08
Waikki, well known around the globe, we are so disappointed by this beach, the sand is brown!!! (We thought Waikki had white sand).
Waikki beach is just the same or no better than many not-so-well-known ordinary Californian or Floridian beaches. But for the price and name Waikki cares, than Waikki beach is definitely overrated, and hotels are ...

Lots of Fun!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/08
Waikiki Beach is a lot of fun! The water is warm and clear. I wasn't even snorkeling and I saw fish!! Just be careful though because the coral can hurt your feet and many "inexperienced"(or horrible) surfers go there to take lessons, so watch your back!! The Waikiki Banyon is a great hotel!
