waikiki is just heaven. it's beautiful. it's peaceful and so much to do.i lived there yrs ago,just recently went to visit and am preparing to move back "forever"!!!!

Having lived on Oahu for 2 1/2 years, I would have to say that Waikiki is a great beach, but not the best beach on Oahu. it is good for learning how to surf, it's close to all the shopping and night time hot spots, but it is not the prettiest beach. The best beach would have to either be Waimanolo Beach on the East side of Oahu or Waimea Bay ...

I loved it. It was a great place to go to if you have never ever been to Hawaii before. I couldnt have had more fun. the people were friendly and the weather was always perfect. The stores around the hotel were also equally perfect. If i could go back there, i would do it in a heartbeat.

If you go to Hawaii, go to Mauii or Kauii. Oahu is nothing but a big city and Waikiki is only 1/4 of a square mile, with wall to wall people. If you like laying on the beach with a myriad of people then Waky-waky is the place for you. Yes, it is cheaper to stay on Oahu, but every refuge has its price. By the way, the sand on the beach in Waikiki is imported from Molakaii.

It was so picturesque and serene! We will definetly go back!

Waikiki is a visual wonder(check out Diamond Head in the distance). Fantastic surroundings. Wonderful beach. Great hotels. Easy access to exceptional shopping and entertainment. What I didn't like about the beach is that the sand appears to stop at the waterline. After that as you wade out, you are walking on rocks! Not great fun for spending time in the water versus on the beach.

Waikiki Beach is a man made beach. Just thought ya'll wouled like to kow that. Other then that little tid-bit, Waikiki is absolutely wonderful. I love the atmosphere and there is a delicious little sushi place called *Run* directly across the seaside road.

We were on Oahu from October 24 - October 31, 2004. We stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach and I can assure you that we will always go back to that hotel.
