  • Go early in the morning
    By Mark in NYC, 02/21/07
This place is worth experiencing, but go in the morning when it's not crowded. Like the vietnam memorial, it is a a very sad but peaceful and profound place. It affected how I felt for the entire day. It really made any life drama I was experiencing at the time seem not important. It is a humbling experience. My second visit was much better bcause I went early.

  • A national treasure that needs more respect
    By Paul in Oklahoma, 01/25/07
This was first on my list of Hawaii destinations and I can recommend to anybody. That said, be prepared to spend half a day, be crowded, and get pushed around a little bit.

My biggest complaint is that there just is not enough room for the crowds that come here. The museum is moving but needs more exhibits and much more space for moving around. ...

  • Emotionaly Moving
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/06
On December 7, 1941, the battleship USS Arizona was sunk, taking 1,100 sailors with it. In 1961, a solemn white monument was erected above the midsection of the ship. The deck of the Arizona lies now six feet below the surface of Pearl Harbor and is clearly visible from the monument. Take the shuttle launch from shore to the monument and view the ...

  • USS Arizona
    By Don, 09/18/06
I was very moved by this visit. When you first go in they show a video of the Pearl Harbor attack. I wasn't aware that the ship was still there in the harbor but you can see it plainly from overhead when you fly over. You can stll see the oil leaking from the ship, they say the bodies are still entombed within it. I was a very moving experience.

  • Go Early
    By R., 08/23/06
Go Early, Go Early, Go Early. I can't stress that enough. We got there at 8:00 am and the line was unbelievable. Probably waited 3 hrs to get in. You can't go to Hawaii with out seeing the Arizona Memorial or Pearl Harbor. Don't take the tours to pearl harbor or the memorial because the not cheap and your going to be on a tight schedule. Rent a car so you can go at your own pace.

  • A Must See
    By Rose, 06/10/06
You can't visit the Island of Oahu and not pay your respects to the men who gave their lives so long ago defending what we are still fighting for today.

The only thing that takes away from this amazing experience is screaming children and people who seem to think it's a place to laugh and joke (they should be thrown off the boat).

  • Bad services - Will not recomment anyone to go there
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/06
The park rangers there were terrible with all the visitors. They treat the visitors like an intruders. People go there to pay respect to the war heroes. But the park rangers there are not very friendly, and bad customer services.

I would not recomment anyone to go there, and I would not go there again.

  • A must for any Honolulu Visit
    By Nani's mom, 05/05/06
The date of December 7, 1941 will always remain in my mind. This tour was absolutely breath-taking. It included a short film that had actual footage of the Pearl Harbor attack. Not a dry eye left the viewing. We then took a little boat over to the actual memorial on the USS Arizona. You could actually see portions of the ship still sticking ...
