Wow, such a humbling experience. We attended on Dec 7, 2005...so the memorial service was also observed, by us. So emotional. Then there was the memorial itself. Still oil seeping up from the ship...after all these years. The names on the wall...the most informative guides. It was all very heartfelt. We can't imagine what that actual day ...
We are greatful to all the people who made this great memorial to all the servicemen who lost there lives. This was our reason for wanting to go to Honolulu, to learn about the history at Pearl Harbor.
A very moving experience. If in the area a must see. The head phones add so much to the tour. the earlier you arrive and get your tickets the better off you are. We went on a tour group which included the Missouri which was well also worth seeing.
We got there early in the morning and were one of the first to get on the ferry. It was nice but not as moving as I expected. We were told to be quiet and show respect. I saw no respect from the Asian folks, very rude. Worth the trip but get there very early or wait forever.
It was nice to come back and visit the Arizona Memorial. I am very grateful for the men and women who gave their lives for our country. I wish they had a section that also had a collection of civilian stories and what the Hawaiian people went through during the attack and after the attack. My Hawaiian Grandparents shared many stories with me and my cousins about what they witnessed and went through during the war, this is also important.
This was my 2nd time here in 3 years and I still found it very moving. It's a reverent memorial to those who lost their lives here. Be prepared to wait in lines, but it's worth the wait. We arrived around 10:30 and lines were not bad, but were told the earlier lines were awful. Also, I highly recommend paying the $10 for the self-guided ...
We took a tour that got us there about 7:30 A.M. There was a big line, but when the doors opened at 8 A.M. the line moved fairly quickly. Got our tickets, went to the gift shop and got souvenirs, then went to the movie. It gives you the history of Dec.7. We then got on the boat that takes you out to the memorial. It is very moving and sad. As ...
Liked: - Be prepared to be overwhelmed! It was difficult standing on sacred ground. A big thank you for all the service men and women who helped make America free!
Disliked: - Movie could be longer - Some staff were too rigid (military like) - Don't expect a tour guide with information, the only information you get free is in the ...

We had no problems getting the tickets out to the USS Arizona. We got out to get tickets around 11 am. We anticipated the 2 hour wait to get to see the film, followed by the boat ride. We strolled around, read the submarine memorials, and saw the museum. We then were called, and went in to see the film. Amazing footage. Then off to the boat ride ...
this was a very good tour we had a great driver that help us out to make sure that every one got in to see this in a timely manner. I would hilly recommend seeing this will you are there.
