First i have to say, that anyone who has the money to go to Oahu, and doesnt take the time to stop and pay tribute to our heros left under water..... Well- Its just wrong... that is the very least we can do... But Secondly- I have to say... I took my children... They loved it, were touched, learned alot, and not bored at all... Crowded, but good swimming
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/21/07
It's a beautiful bay, but the beach can be crowded and the water is murky until you get out a ways form shore. In return trips I found that it is best to get there early and leave by noon.
Wow - this memorial is really moving. Standing on that bridge really takes you back to Dec 7, 1941. The only negative I noticed is all the children running and playing. It would be better if children under a certain age where not allowed out there. OH yeah, and it is free - but I would definitely pay for it! Dont believe any of the other ...

Honeymoon in Oahu
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/07/07
My husband and I went to Oahu for our honeymoon and Pearl Harbor was one of my favorite visits. Aside from the historical significance, it serves as a reminder of what our freedom costs and of how powerful forgiveness is...there were many Japanese there visiting as well. I learned so much at Pearl Harbor and I will always remember the experience ...

Pearl Harbor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/07
It was very busy to get out to the actual ship so I recomend getting out there early. Once out there it was interesting to see oil still floating to the surface after all of these years. This whole experience was a very sobering reminder of the sacrifices American soldiers have made over the years.
I can't wait to visit again. The first time we went here, we went on a Sunday morning, and I could't help but think that the morning calm was close to what it might have looked like in 1941 when the attack happened. It was a very strange feeling riding out to the Arizona Memorial, and then looking down in the water to see the ship below the ...

If you make to the Island this is a must!
By Jon, 12/30/06
Every day another survivor from Pearl Harbor passes away and there are not many left now. One of the defining moments in US history and if you get to the island you will not be disappointed. See this memorial and thank the "greatest generation" every chance you can. The lines can be long, go early.

Get there early!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/06
Get there early, like 7AM. We got there at 10AM and had to wait 3 hours. The waiting area is nice with green grass, but basically it's just you and 5000 people sitting around waiting. Not fun. There's an exhibit and a gift shop to look at while you wait, but there's only so much you can do at any gift shop. There is NO fee for the Pearl Harbor Memorial, so you do not need to book this with a tour.

Looking back as a 7yr. old in 1941
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/06
I was only a 7yr. old child when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese. My family & I went to Hawaii to celebrate my Birthday in 2004. I could never include the word like in seeing the Memorial wall in Pearl Harbor or being at the exact place that all those young men lost there young lives. I have 9 grandchildren now. I went to ...
