we were amazed to see oil bubbles still coming to the surface of the clear blue waters.truly an amazing place to visit.even though it was a hot day we each had a cold shiver in our back
Do not miss going to Ford Island, I felt it brought things more to light of what it was like that day. Visiting the Utah and standing along the shore of battleship row was a very different view of the attack.
Have been to see The Memorial .First time in 1985,second,May 2006. When you can see the oil still leaking out, after all this time ,about a quart a day I was told,it makes you wonder about a lot of things while watching it.
This is a fantastic experience. It is free to go and extremely informative. You view the museum and take a short boat road out to the memorial. Takes about an hour. Make sure you get there in the morning before it gets packed.
Recomend to all my military friends to put this first on there list to visit.Im ex navy and lived in phoenix az for 25 years.Keep up the good work and thanks to all park service and us navy personnel.

The visitors center offers many things to keep you busy while waiting for the boat shuttle to the USS Arizona. A museum inside as well as a walking tour on the outside provides you with an insight as to what happend during that fateful time in American History. My two young sons gained a valuable educational experience getting to see first hand what had happened.
I went back in the 80's but it was such an awesome place to know what those men went through is heart wrenching. My late husband took me for a week and that was our first stop it is very educational and a great learning experience for all...To all our sailors I Thank You for all you do and have done for our country. I thought this place was awsome.... the reverence in the air, and the general solemness and feeling of respect that permeated this place is intense.......
