This is one of those place you hear about, but don't truly understand until you're there. If you're going to Hawaii this is a place you have to put down as a must see.

your heart breaks. if you stand silent you can feel the sorrow felt there in all the men who died. spend time and read the wall of names you never know if someone from someone you know has a son grandfather brother etc... who is still buried on that ship.

This is a must for all travelers to Honolulu. Get there early as the available spots to take the launch to the actual memorial close early. I would suggest going there at around 0630 to get in line. Do not braing any bags as you can't get in with them. There are lockers available to secure items with. It is a very nice Somber Reminder of the price paid for our freedom.
