Wonderful place to visit and great value, they just ask for a donation. It is a little tough to find, so make sure you get directions. Beautiful sculptures and trees. We did get attacked by bugs though, so bring bug spray!

What a beautiful well kept place. Either sitting on one of the granite benches or walking slowly on the sandy road shielded from the hot summer sun by magestic live oaks covered in spanish moss. The quiet, lapping of the near by river gives an air of coolness that is in contrast to the heat and humidity. It's magic cannot be captured in pictures or prose. It is worth driving out of your way by
My wife and I took a weekend trip to Savannah, and never visiting the cemetary previously, it was high on my list of priorities. We visited it, and despite hot weather, this was such a nice experience, walking around, seeing all the unique monuments and tombstones. It is a must for photographers. Make sure you visit the welcome center here and ask ...
Make sure you get a map so you dont get lost!! This was one of the larger cemetarys I had ever been in, the history here is remarkable. We started walking, but went back and got the car so we could ride around since it was so large, was quite hot there in June!

I can't tell you how many times I have been to Bonaventure on my multiple trips to Savannah, and I know I will always end up going back. It is simply the most peaceful place I can think of or imagine. There is nothing creepy or scary about it. It is beautiful, moving, colorful, breathtaking, and sometimes even amusing if you pay enough ...
Bonaventure is truly breath-taking. This is definitely the most beautiful cemetary I've ever seen! Just the history here itself is unbelievable. Make sure you stop and see Gracie!
Bonaventure Cemetery is possibly one of the most breathtaking final resting places in the US. Situated along the banks of a vast river, replete with scores of stately, great oaks, the layout resembles the great cities of Europe, with geometrically designed roads and foot paths. There are marble statuary, sweet headstones as well as a plethora of ...
I loved my trip to Bonaventure Cemetery, anyone making a trip to Savannah, Ga. has to make this stop a "MUST". The statuary are just wonderful, beautiful and I would say museum quality. A feeling of peace filled me as I strolled from one gravesite to another. I wish I had have had a lot longer to explore but we didn't find this jewell ...
I absolutely LOVE this place. It is beautiful and serene, quiet and peaceful. It is engulfed with ancient moss covered oak trees and beautiful sculptures. There is security there, so it is a safe place to visit...but, lock your doors if you exit the car. Let me encourage you to get out of the vehicle and walk around. This place take EXCELLENT black ...
I live in Savannah and have relatives buried in Bonaventure. It is the most beautiful cemetery I've ever seen. Where my grandparents are buried I can visit them and then sit on a bench and look out at the water. I love this cemetery.
