I can't believe folks are only going to this museum to see a statue from a Hollywood movie. Wow, our culture is so weak intellectually.

Visited on a day when the wedding planners etc. had taken over. Spent most of the time dodging workers and stepping over and around the decorations and preparations. Spent the rest of the time wondering how the art work on the walls manages to survive. Clearly this is no place to view art (and get charged for it) on wedding day.

They should reduce the cost of this museum especially for those that just want to see the "Savannah Bird Girl" statue. No pictues allowed though, too bad for us "Midnight" fans.

If you are not a local of Savannah, GA, The Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences is NOT free on Sunday. Also, it is not $8 for entry as the site says, but $10. The yahoo description of this place is misleading. As it is not free for travelers, why is it even on the yahoo travel site?

The museum is fabulous, however, it is misleading to those who are paying the $9 entry fee to not be told that pictures are not allowed. There was no notice posed that I saw and the main reason that I wanted to go into the museum was to get a photograph of the bird girl.

I always love a good museum. The bird girl statue was awesome. I just wish I could have taken pictures. I wanted to feel the texture of the paint that composed the artwork. I thought the most amusing part was that on the sign outside of the museum...everyone had put their blue stickers all over it that had notated that they had paid for admission...

Plan to spend an hour here. The two restored rooms from the original house are spectacular and the other pieces are pleasant. The "Bird Girl" from Bonaventure Cemetery now lives here. The combination ticket to the Owens-Thomas House and this museum is a real deal at $12.00.
