the park is stunningly beautiful, but if you are a photographer above the point and shoot level, and own a camera worth more than $500 you will be asked to pay up to a $200 fee simply to take photos.

Plantation House
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/08
In some of the earlier post it was mentioned that the plantation house was no longer at Wormsloe. The plantation house is still there and the Barrow family continues to live there, they are decendents of the original family. The house is visable during the winter, can see alittle during the summer. As you drive down the oak canope look to the left ...

This was the most beautiful park I have ever been to. Don't go without a camera. Be sure to have walking shoes on, as you will want to walk on all of the trails.

A very relaxing Atmosphere!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/05/08
It was an awesome experience! I thought I knew all about savannah until I visited Wormsloe. The short film they showed was a great story on the history of Savannah and it came to be. The atmosphere was very relaxing and so beautiful. I would definitely go back!!
Wormsloe State Historic Site is beautiful. If you have ever been to St. Augustine, FL or the Timquanan Preserve in Jacksonville, FL, then this is a lot like those places. Again, the yahoo travel site is inaccurate; the price is $4 per person, not $2.

Enchanting!!

Stop at the gate and get out to feel the experience. The trees are so beautiful and romantic. I am a lover of live oak trees and this is one of the best presentations I have ever seen. The plantation house in no longer standing but the alle' is worth seeing. Go to the visitors center for wonderful books and post cards.
The entry to Wormsloe is lovely. The trees that line the road inside are magificant. But, it is not my favorite place to visit. It is historical, as most places in Savannah. Just not as interesting as some other areas. IMO.

great place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/06
This is a perfect place to get the kids out of the house and outdoors for some fresh air. We did a day trip and it was great - went for their 3 mile hike (there is another one that is 1 mile if you don't want to go out for that long) which was very pretty and the path was very noticable so we didn't worry about getting lost. Packed a ...

Wonderful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/23/05
At first, I was a bit disappointed that the home was no longer standing, however, that soon did not matter at all. Lane, the Interpretor at the park, was kind enough to give us a personal tour. Lane made everything so very vivid with his gift for storytelling and endless knowledge of Wormsloe that it almost seemed that we here there during the ...
