This place was absolutely fascinating. Its in Jonesboro, a very cute town near Atlanta, with lots of historic buildings. The tour guides are all volunteers, passionate about history and told great stories about the house's past, which has a rich, amazing history. Going there you can put yourself into the old south and get an idea what life ...

Great for adults and children!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/07
Our Guide, Mrs. English, was so wonderful, she aswered every question, and it was like she was giving a tour of her own home. The evacuation of Jonesboro reenactment we went to was amazing... we were all afraid, and could really imagine what it would have been like. The reenactment we went to was at night, which made it so realistic for us all.

Beauty only goes skin-deep
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/07
Stately Oaks is a beautiful looking place, but I have visited places with a lot more to offer for a lot less money. No Access For Blind, Deaf or Handicapped
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/28/05
Upon my arrival, I was appalled by virtually no access for the deaf, blind or the handicapped. When asked, the staff was rude and crude, unlike what I thought southern women were. I would never recommend this place for those who have relatives that are deaf, blind or handicapped. It would be a waste of your money and time.
