If the animals here are rescued from bad situations, someone needs to rescue them from Yellow River. 1. Animals either excessively obese from 'food' sold to visitors (graham crackers, marshmellows) or in need of medical attention. 2. Deceiving handicapped visitors with a promise of a 'paved trail', only to deliver a crumbling ...
Waited on line to get in for 45 minutes. The bathrooms were beyond filthy. Animals were in small cages. Many cages had no water in them, the ones that did were filthy. Ducks swimming in stagnent water. Redneck children running around chasing animals with sticks. Animals looked miserable. Completely unbelievable. Place should be shut down.

first of all, most of the animals there are rescued and are either injured or can't survive by themselves in the wild. So if any animals that may have looked injured or ill, I'm sure they are at the Yellow River Game Ranch for a reason, to stay alive. I went last year, and I am actually going back again tomorrow. I love how you can feed the animals right out of your hands, and all the animals are so comfortable around humans.
We were so excited to take my 4 year old here hoping that she could enjoy petting some happy well cared for animals. Instead we witnessed some beautiful animals being subjected to daily torture something which I was horrified to see is still happening in today's day and age. I was so sad that people (including us on that day) were supporting ...
The animals lived in cramped condition, and they are filthy. Many of them look like they need medical attention. It is neat that you get to feed the animals, but that is the only plus. If you or I kept our dogs in the way they keep all the animals, we would be in jail for animal abuse.

Awful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/09
These animals are SUFFERING! It's horrible. The green putrid water of the overcrowded geese pen. The cramped, damp, drafty, woefully inadequate housing of the animals. I know some people get a little misled thinking "Oh how cool, I get to feed the animals" but if you look beyond that to what the ANIMALS think of that place, it will change that "Oh how cool" to "Oh! How UNcool!!"
My daughter and son (3 and 1) can't get enough. We've been twice and my husband and I enjoy this almost as much as they do. Something you should definetely try. Just be sure to buy food for the animals at the store before setting out. this is also not too expensive, which was big for us

Poor conditions.

When I went many of the animals were inadequately housed. Some of the caged animals had no shelter all. Some of the caged animals also had no water. The bears are a sad, sad sight. They are kept in an awful concrete pit. When I went several of the rabbits had eye infections or other injuries. Some of the animals look okay, but many look like they are suffering.

Lowkey and Relaxing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/07
The really nice thing about the game ranch is that they take in orphaned, injured and otherwise unwanted animals. They survive entirely off the admission price and goodies they sell in the gift shop, and the donations made to the ranch over its 40 years of life. They recycle fruits, vegetables and meats (for the meat-eating animals) from local ...

Very Important Precautions! ESPECIALLY if you are bringing a youngster with any sort of low immunity, fungal or bacterial infection
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/06
bring rubber gloves, medical mask (don't laugh) and pre-treat your clothes with cutter advanced spray if you are going to pet the animals, and hopefully you'll avoid a lot of medical bills and physical ailment down the road. My son and I have LOVED coming to Yellow River Game Ranch for the past year and never had and prior issues, however ...
