I liked everything about it. We went in July and again in October. Both times were very enjoyable. Really, really HOT in July, very high humidity, but not crowded at all. We recently spent a week at the Stone Mountain Campground. We had a very positive experience. We camped in a pop-up camper directly on the lake. We had access to the water taxi which was very nice because we did not have to drive. Majority of the sites are shaded and you are not on top of each other. Stone Mountain is a wonderful place to go, whether for the historic aspect, for the beauty, or just for a fun night at the laser show. I used to live outside of Atlanta and this is one of the places I miss most.
There's hiking, camping, a railroad, laser show, good food and so much more.
