we have been going to Highlands Hammock for Thanksgiving every year since 1990 Our kids have grown up knowing that is where we will be on that weekend, Last year we had our brand new grandbaby there with us at only 1 month old.We have camped near the same people year after year. The park is so peaceful and beautiful Give it a try you want regret it.I can smell the smoked turkeys in the air already looking forward to next month.

This state park (by the way, the first state park in Florida) is not to be missed. It felt like another world, standing quietly among the tall trees blowing in the wind, watching for all kinds of wild life. We ate at the park restaurant and went through the museum where we learned about the CC camp 3.5 million members who changed our country in the 30s.
