I thought WonderWorks was a decent lower cost alternative to Disney and Universal. Unlike some of the reviewers, we did not experience a lot of broken stuff. There were some unruly kids at times. We left for lunch and came back in the afternoon. I took the time to outline my day pretty extensively here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Vacation-in-Orlando-Area-Review-of-WonderWorks Feel free to check it out.

We had no idea it was a childrens attraction. We paid way too much only to find out this is an overpriced childrens arcade. There were a couple of moderately interesting exhibits but you had to fight the kids for them. No order in the place at all. Excited, out of control kids everywhere and boring old carnival contraptions. I wanted my money back but my wife wouldn't let me ask. Live and learn!
We went on June 27th. Our family had a great time. It is definitely a great place to take your kids to. My nine year old and six year old had a blast. So many hands on activities to experience. We were in there for over 2 hours and the kids didn't want to leave. We did NOT have any problems with broken displays like other reviews had said. ...
I went about 3 years ago and it was GREAT!!!!! But we came back a few weeks ago, and boy was it disipointing all the stuff we had done before was broke or out of order and it was loud and crouded on all the things that did work, they need a bigger place and to fix if up and make everthing work and they need to clean better because things were ...

Not that Wonderful..

Although my 8-year old daughter seemed to enjoy, my 4-year old son was a bit freaked out by some of the loud, noisy or dark exhibits. I was very disappointed. I agree with everyone else's critiques- the outside was the very best part, very cool to look at; but the inside was old looking, several games did not work, some exhibits were too ...
Place looks cool from the outside. The inside has a number of interesting displays, but most of it you would find in a science museum. Unfortunately, too many of the displays were broken. For what it offers, admission is pricey.
I was SO excited to go in the upside down house, but the exterior of the house was, sadly, the best part of WonderWorks. Many of the games and experiments were broken or in very poor condition. I think they should take some of the money they charge at the door (and it's a LOT) and fix the place up. There were some Escher type photographs that were cool, but meh.....I wouldn't go back.
This place is for kids of all ages, from 3 to 93. It has interesting historical trivia & things for adults to ponder, & great hands on exhibits for the kids.
It was easy to find from our timeshare, & the price was reasonable for the value. You could get through all of it in one day, & it has a snack bar & gift shop ...
