First off, You have to know what you are buying. If you are thinking a cruise, cabin, great meals, shows and so on, forget it. This is not that kind of cruise.

I went to Freeport, Grand Bahama on Discovery Cruise Line's 1 day trip from Fort Lauderdale. We went there in August, and the weather was hot & sunny. ship is old, but this cruise line is great for people on a tight budget. I have been on that ship at least 8 times in 20 years. It is not a cruise line for the rich.It is for those that are trying to get away on a very tight budget. For that reason it is great.I'm sure many familys would not have gone on a vacation like this is it wasn't there for them.

This cruise is basically a very over priced water taxi. It is old, dingy, and surprisingly smelly. My wife and I betting each other how long ago it was built (1970s vs early 80s). Breakfast and dinner were both bad (and it's hard to screw up breakfast, right?) Poor flavors and selections. The wait staff are unhelpful and unfriendly, constantly proding you for a tip.
