The founder and builder of Coral Castle was brillant and way ahead of his time. You must make this a MUST SEE - you will not believe how well thought out detail oriented and brillant in design this place is. My sister and I went because it was somewhere she always wanted to visit. Unbelievable that a man could love a woman so much as to build every inch of this castle from scratch. You will love this.

Journey through the Human Heart
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/07
As an engineer, I expected to be awed by the sheer acheivement of quarrying, moving, and erecting this structure. Instead, I became far more interested in the man who created it than the large coral blocks--it was merely an introduction to the man. His love for his creation and dedication to it made me awe-struck. The kind of person, living as ...
Coral Castle is truly unique and magical. The best time to go is sunset. The energy is at its peak at that time. What Ed did and how he did it is totally mystifying. He must have known the secrets of how the pyramids in Egypt were built AND he incorporated the spirituality of India.
I love this place. No one has figured out how the builder created this masterpiece. The mystery died with him. Even modern-day science has no answer. If you have any brain cells you want to excercise, go see it.

Incredible achievement of a single man
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/27/05
Very special place, it's a "Castle" (rather small) made of coral rock by a single man from Latvia. Be sure to do the tour with a guide and also read the booklets are it will become rather boring. This man was very spiritual and believed in magnetic energies... he also had excellent engineer skills since he could move several tons blocks on his own using hand-made tools. I think it's a must see, but definatly needs a guide.

Amazing place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/05
Make sure you find a guide to walk you around this place - that really makes all the difference! It really is amazing to see these heavy pieces that this small man was able to move. If you like science, you'll like this. It's worth the drive but do some research on this first to make sure you're interested.

interesting, but not worth the drive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/08/05
Unique, but not worth the drive down to it. I have a hard time picturing him or anyone else actually using these stone "furnishings." Interesting place, but poorly interpreted and looses appeal quickly.
