I loved this attraction so much that even though I can probably recite the guided tour myself I take it every time I go to Key West.

I had visited the Hemingway house about 10 years ago and I loved it so I thought that I would take my boyfriend there while we were in key west and I was very disappointed. They have not kept everything up to date. It wasnt that clean. There werent many cats left which is what its known for. It was miserably hot since they dont have any air. I cant believe the prices for that place!
Usually, I love to go to museums but in my opinion, the hemigway home was so boring. There was no one there to give us a tour and hardly anyhting was about ernest hemingway. I was hoping to see a bunch of cats, but I only say about 10...maybe. Definatly not worth the $13 we paid...for each ticket.

Worth it if you're a fan...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/06
My wife and I, who were on honeymoon in Key West last month, decided to make the Hemingway home a stop on our vacation... The house was certainly amazing and the tour guide had a good personality, but overall the tour seemed to be a little lackluster and didn't include much pertinent information regarding his life as an artist (they did cover ...
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us many stories about E. Hem. The grounds were well kept and the cats with 6 toes made E. Hem. come alive as we walked around. The cats were friendly, laying around the grounds and inside the house. I thought it was a little pricy at $11.00 per person.

I can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/13/06
I loved going to Ernest Hemingway's House. The first time I went was in 2000 and I really enjoyed his home. The thing that caught my attention was the swimming pool, and the fountain that is a urenal from Sloppy Joes. The thing that i dislike is the price to get in. When i went it was $9.00 and now i heared it went up. Maybe this year I'll go see Ernie again.

Not worth the entry fee. A bunch of cats in a run down house. $39 for a family of four. I would skip it unless you are an avid Heminway fan.
I can appreciate the home of a famous author as much as the next guy....but anything original and remniscent of Hemingway has long since desserted this home. It has been preserved as much a spossible but to the Key West tourist ends up being an old home that needs some dusting and has very little left in terms of Hemingweays personal effects. ...

Fascinating Tour, Strong on his Life Story But Weak on Literary Background
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/05
Although it could be argued that, being quite a small house, this was not the most extensive tour, I found the background given on Hemingway's life at Key West fascinating.
I was, however, disappointed at the lack of background knowledge of his works displayed by the staff in general. For example some of the characters in To Have & Have Not are obviously based on his literary friends but they could not advise.
