I never found any good beach in Key West. The best beaches are in Pensacola,Fla. and to the west and east of Pensacola,Fla.

No matter what "they" say, there are no real beaches in Key West. We traveled most of a day turning at every "beach this way" sign and was disappointed each time.
The rocks are hard to walk on and the cramped spaces make it always crowded. If you want beaches stay on the mainland or better yet try the Great Lakes in the midwest.

I've been to Key West 6 times, each time for 7 days. That means I've had 42 opportunities to visit Smathers. I've been 1 time, and that was more than I should have gone.
