When I go tot he Mai Kai, they remember my name. I go maybe once a year. The drinks are the best on the planet. The staff is the best. The Peking Duck is worth a year's wait. The place is beyond fantastic.
As for the person who tried to walk out with the mug worth "$100", I assume they had the Mystery Drink bowl, which sells for ...

Really the best Tiki Bar in the World!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/15/07
I dont know where these other less than stellar reviews came from, but if you are looking for an extravagant Tiki bar from the past, this is the best one left in the World! First thing to order is the Shanghai chicken, teriaki chicken wrapped in top shelf bacon, a super deal at 7 bucks for I believe six wraps. The drinks are somewhat pricey, but ...

Shock and Awe
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/07
I had been to this restaurant once before for a company party and it was an enjoyable experience. Decent food, good service, entertaining show with young eye-candy to boot...However, my second visit wasn't quite as enjoyable. We went for my little brother's 26th birthday, a party of 9, and to be fair, other than the waitress forgetting ...

We can't wait to go back
By mare7843, 01/26/07
If you had ever dreamed of going Hawaii...go here and get a taste of it...I went to the pleased section of my brain and etched it into my memory...I can't wait to go back...I just need to light a match under his buttocks to get him going...not that he didn't enjoy it. Go and enjoy...Marilyn

Memories

Just like old times. My husband and I used to go on dates at the Mai Kai-sometimes for the show sometimes not. We celebrated our 27th anniversary there. Although the building took a beating from the hurricaine-the interior remains as unique as ever. It takes a few minutes to adjust your eyes-but you sure don't feel like you're in Fort ...

Over booked

We were on Vacation from Kansas City. We made our reservations for dinner and the show on Wendsday night for Friday night. We arrived and waited in line for 35 minutes to find out that we could still eat but it would be late, and we didn't get to see the show. We watched them say the same thing to 2 other groups. We all left! They really ...

It was terrible!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/06
I've been going to the Mai-Kai for years and have noticed over the past two years it has really gone downhill. The service is terrible, the workers are rude, the food is awful and as someone else stated the in some cases the pineapples that you get your drinks in are mushy and bad, it's rather dingy and dirty these days. I always make ...

What a mistake was going there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/06/06
The service was rude, food bad, and drinks rotten. I ordered a drink that was served in a real pineapple; the problem was that the pineapple was old, soft, and rotten. I also ordered beef with rice that tasted like rubber. I think my dog its better. The only thing positive there was the show, but it’s not worth the price. We hasted our money and time. Never again.

Peking Duck for 2
By lovetowin2, 10/26/05
By far my favorite restaurant, ever! My wife and I had one of our first dates there and the service, food and ambiance were fantastic. In fact, we loved it so much we were married in the Mai Kai and had our reception during the floor show. The drinks are a bit pricy, but if you get there for happy hour the 2 for 1 deal makes them a good value. ...

Went there with my wife for something new and we have been in the restaurant business for some time and my wife is a chef. Don't know what those other people ordered in these reviews but they need to get a little more adventurous as we had very good food and it was quite delicious. Smelled a little musky in there and the garden was closed even ...
