When I took my daughter for the first time, she really enjoy herself. We plan to visit again. She didn't get the chance to go into the space shuttle. She was amazed with the planets and all the gadget that was there.

The National Air and Space Museum is one of the best museums in Washington. With all kinds of aircraft hanging from the ceiling, your kids will enjoy seeing the old planes and space aircraft. The I-Max theater is great. It feels as through you are moving through the movie/film. All in all this is a great place for adults and children.

  • Magnificent
    By Phil, 09/14/05
There are few museums based around the scientific accomplishments of man that compare to this. All things, from the start of our nations ability to fly to the near future predictions of our aviation, are listed and tangible. There is hardly a question of our airborne capabilities left unanswered after a visit.
It is not, however, without its ...

lighting was dim in certain areas but the whole overall experience was interesting and informative. Great place to go with your family or just to stop by and check out the IMAX!

  • Great, but main wing is out of date
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/14/05
This may reflect the state of the space race in America today, but the museum is no longer the place to find high technology. The history museum, ironically, usually has more on modern science.

I remember going to the Air and Space museum over twenty-two years ago. I loved the aircraft carrier deck, the model planets, the rockets, and the X ...

I touched the moon with my own hand. I saw Glamorous Glennis high above the floor. I saw space capsules close up and could go inside the shuttle.

Value yes, I mean how can you argue something that is free. It was nice to visit and to say that you've been there at least once, but not too impressed.
Maybe for people who have a geniune interest in airplanes and things involing space this may be a wonderful place to visit

  • Tops on my list in Wash DC
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/05
I can't wait to go back. The history of aviation is all here. And it's bookstore is the best on the topic anywhere in the world.
Kids will be especially awed by all that is here.
    Don't miss it.

  • I can never learn too much here
    By Team Frosick, 08/30/05
Although my wife doesn't particularly like to set foot in the place, that's primarily because she knows once I'm in, I'm in for hours. The exhibits are fascinating (and increasingly more interactive), the astronaut ice cream is fantastic (it's all I remember from my first trip here as a small child), and it's as free or ...
