You absolutely must take your family to see this memorial. For those of us baby boomers who were teenagers and twenty's during the war, it will certainly bring back many memories. An appropriate memorial to those of our generation who gave their all for the country and to preserve freedom.
Once you go you will have to go back again. The feelings that are shared at that Memorial is one of sadness, yet gratitude. Its our history, its a piece of all of us, and everyone needs to go at least once in their lifetime.

LIfe Changing Experience

I find the experience hard to describe. I will never take my freedom for granted again. What a tragedy. Yet, we are free to remember those who gave their all. Every man and woman in America should make the journey. Teens need to experience this before they venture into adulthood.
Seeing this wall was the saddest thing I have ever done. It is so powerful. Even though I cried, it was worth it to pay my respects and to say a silent prayer of thank you for the sacrifice for your country.
no matter your political views, this is a moving experience you won't forget... the design is original and pleasing to the eye, and the meaning of the veitnam experience to you will change forever.
The memorial is always serene and reflective. It is a great place to get centered. It always has gifts left by loving family and friends to show that these heroes will never be forgotten.

Never to forget

This was an amazing experience, and I was awed by the magnitude of names.
The design is brilliant, and the statues at the site are an added bonus.
You're sure to see a Vet or two there and rememberances of loved ones left behind.
The Wall is a very solemn place that reminds us that our freedom is not free.
If you visit here, there's nothing that I can tell you to make your visit either good or bad. Everyone experiences their own thing when they visit the wall.
I go every year and ride in Rolling Thunder (Memorial Day weekend). This ride honors our fallen, ...
A great place to stop and think about a time in history that people wanted to forget. The memorial did not just stop at men, but included the women, and nurses who served in VietNam
all generations need to take this downward sloping walk along the walls of the vietnam memorial. i appreciate itmore every time i visit. as you descend walking toward the crux of the monument, and in effect, the toll of the war, the names of the dead pile up higher around you. The effect is heart wretching.
