The Washington Cathedral was constructed by traditional methods used by craftspeople from Europe over the centuries. It is gothic in design and the details of its construction are readily available at the Cathedral. It is a functioning church, with several chapels below the main level. The stained glass windows are unique and each tells a story. ...
The atmosphere in the cathedral was less respectful than any place of worship I have been in. Although I appreciate the size, there was little substance inside the cathedral. There was not too much to admire and it was not a great place to pray. I reccommend the Immaculate Conception church a couple minutes away. Even if you arent Catholic, the church is a great work of architecture, art, and reverence.
This is a outstanding place to visit. It is breath taking. It offers all denominations of worship under one hugh roof that is supported by the very large colums compressing inwards somehow. They have tours of the cathedral everyday, check the site. That explains how the building is constructed and they too have a moon rock. It is in one of the many ...

The art museum in the top was aweful. I will not go back. There are a lot better things to see in DC than this.

The stain glass windows are beautiful when the sun shines in. The tiles on the floor, the state flags, gardens and the view are all something to stop you in your steps! Can't wait to return.

Beatuful Jewels of Light
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/07
This magnificent Cathedral has beautiful stain glass widows. During our tour the tourguide explained to us that when the light shines through the windows, exquisite colors are displayed called jewels of light. They took my breath away and gave me a great connection with God. Each window tells a story as well as creating a breath-taking experince. ...
The Cathedral is AWESOME, simply said. I will visit it every time I go to D.C. It is so peaceful and beautiful. If you go to the top of it, you can see for many miles, all around. There is a nice garden to visit.
What a lovely place to visit and find peace in. The art of this Cathedral is beautiful. The design flawless. This is a Cathedral Anglicans can be proud of.
This cathedral was my FAVORITE on our 8th grade touring session because it was calm, peaceful, and serene. We went to the "basement" and saw Helen Keller's tomb, along with her tutor's. The stained glass windows were AMAZING and it was just my luck I forgot my camera that day. But I still really liked it. Thanks! ~Emmalee
