  • Great place to get away from crowds

    I visited the National Portrait Gallery/American Art Museum in May 2007 and was very impressed by the museum and it's beautiful old building from the 1850s that it is all housed in. The main perks of this museum was its location right above the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro stop and the fact that it is a lot less crowded than the other popular ...

  • A Re-opening Worth Waiting For

    The re-opening of the National Portrait Gallery was certainly worth waiting for. The completed renovation is a phenomenal accomplishment which brings exuberance to each of the various art forms. The color schemes selected in the various exhibits enhance the portraits and sculptures, and create a moving experience for the viewer. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and plan to return very soon.
